All 22 Film Breakdown: Dak Prescott Best Plays of Week Four
Showcasing Dak Prescott's best plays from the 38-3 victory over the New England Patriots.
The Cowboys were dominant Sunday afternoon in their 38-3 win over the New England Patriots as they had two defensive touchdowns and Dak Prescott played his best game of the season so far.
Prescott was 28-of-34 for 260 yards, one touchdown, and zero interceptions in this game. He operated the offense well as he threw with good timing, anticipation, accuracy, and kept the ball out of harm’s way.
I have chosen six of Prescott’s best plays from Sunday’s performance to break down using coaches all-22 film.
1st Quarter 1:30 left 2nd down & 5 at NE 20
Prescott puts good touch on this throw to CeeDee Lamb down the sideline placing it in a spot where only Lamb can get to it which he does to haul it in for a touchdown. He consistently had good accuracy all game and this is one of the best examples of that.
2nd Quarter 9:09 left 2nd down & 9 at DAL 23
The placement on this throw from Prescott is very good as the front angle shows that he puts just enough on it to get it over the head of the head of Patriots linebacker Mack Wilson and into the hands of Jake Ferguson who withstands a big hit to hang on for a 21-yard completion.
2nd Quarter 8:32 left 1st down & 10 at DAL 44
Prescott made many good anticipatory throws on comeback routes towards the sideline throughout the game and this was the best example of it as he hits Lamb with a cross field throw for a 12-yard completion.
2nd Quarter 0:16 left 1st down & 10 at DAL 29
This was a good throw on the run by Prescott as he escapes the pocket to the outside and hits Ferguson on the sideline with a well-placed throw for 12 yards.
3rd Quarter 10:17 left 3rd down & 6 at NE 33
The Patriots get multiple free rushers after blitzing on this play as he delivers a good throw to Michael Gallup who creates separation by selling a slant route before breaking outside hauling in the throw for a third down completion.
3rd Quarter 6:08 left 1st down & 10 at DAL 47
Prescott rolls out to deliver a good throw to Brandin Cooks on a comeback route for a five-yard gain on first down. The back angle of this play shows the impressive velocity he puts on this throw.
