All 22 Film Breakdown: Josh Allen Best Plays from Week Three
Showcasing Josh Allen’s best plays from the Bills 37-3 win over the Commanders.
The elite quarterback talent in the NFL right now is apparent and that was shown this weekend. Josh Allen is amongst the best quarterbacks in football and had a good performance in the Bills 37-3 beatdown of the Commanders.
Allen’s elite arm talent and athleticism was on display in this game as he made impressive plays with his arm and his legs.
I have chosen seven of Allen’s best plays of the game to break down using all-22 angles.
1st Quarter 11:41 left: 3rd down & 8 at BUF 40
This was easily one of best throws and plays from a quarterback in the NFL this season. Allen is able to escape the pocket with a pass rusher running him down and deliver a pinpoint accurate pass while on the run to Diggs downfield for 30 yards.
1st quarter 0:41 left 1st down & 10 at WSH 35
Off of play action Allen is able to hit Gabe Davis on a corner route downfield with a well-placed pass for a 35-yard touchdown.
2nd Quarter 8:29 left 2nd down & 12 at BUF 11
Allen displays his elite athleticism on this play as he steps up to avoid Chase Young who is looping around the middle to scramble for 23 yards.
2nd Quarter 0:32 left 2nd down & 10 at WSH 22
This was ruled incomplete but is worth showing as it one of Allen’s best throws of the day. The touch on this throw to Davis on the corner route is phenomenal, but the Commanders Kendall Fuller makes a good play to push Davis out of bounds before he can get both feet down.
3rd Quarter 9:11 left 1st down & 10 at BUF 1
This was another impressive downfield throw from Allen as it was one of three passes of 20+ yards downfield that he completed in this game. The front angle of this throw really shows the arm strength required to make a throw like this as he drops it in a bucket across the field to Diggs for 30 yards.
3rd Quarter 1:50 left 2nd down & 7 at BUF 34
Allen puts just enough on this throw to get it over the outstretched arms of Commanders safety Kamren Curl and into the hands of Diggs for a 20-yard completion.
4th Quarter 10:37 left 2nd down & goal at WSH 10
Allen scores his second touchdown of the day on this play as the Commanders send six defenders on blitz with man coverage on the backend, he’s able to allude the free rusher up the middle and trot into the endzone.
